At Baker Law Office, Steven and Jonathan Baker bring more than 30 years of experience to each case. We work hard to provide client-centered, effective, and practical solutions to a variety of legal issues. Baker Law Office is honored to serve the Walker, Longville, and Pequot Lakes areas.

Steve is the founder of Baker Law Office.  He's called the Walker area "home" since 1968 and has been practicing law in the Walker and Longville area since 1980. 

 

Steve obtained his bachelor’s degree from Bemidji State University and graduated from Hamline Law School with honors in 1980.  

​

While Steve has “done it all” over the course of his career, he primarily focuses on estate planning, trusts, probate, conservatorships/guardianships, real estate, and business law.  Steve is also the Title Examiner for Cass and Hubbard Counties. 

​

Outside of work, Steve enjoys sailing, fishing, listening to music, woodworking, spending time with his family, and traveling. 

Jon grew up in the Walker area and graduated from Walker High School in 2003.  Jon attended Hamline Law School and graduated as the top student in his graduating class in 2015.

After law school, Jon clerked at the Minnesota Court of Appeals.  Before returning to Walker to practice law with his father, Jon practiced law in the Litigation Department at Fredrikson & Byron in Minneapolis.

​

Jon focuses on real estate, business law, estate planning, and bankruptcy.  Jon can also help you with litigation, family law matters, and seeking or defending against the issuance of a restraining order or order for protection.

​

When Jon is not at work, he enjoys being outdoors with his dogs, reading, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and cooking.

Michelle has lived in the Walker area since 2004 and has worked at Baker Law Office since 2016. 

 

Before working at Baker Law Office, Michelle obtained her accounting-clerk diploma from Northwest Technical College.  Michelle has a broad-array of prior experience, including running her own salon.

Michelle supports both Steve and Jon at the Walker location and is integral to the day-to-day operation of Baker Law Office. 

​

Away from the office, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, crafts, attending church, as well as listening to music and dancing.
